Ok so I have a 93 coupe with a mini me swap, and It was throwing code 20 witch is the ELD, now car is not getting spark to my number 4 cylinder and has no power what so ever also sounds like a Subaru. Well I replaced the plugs, plug wires, and distributor, still running into the no spark to my #4….. Only does it sometimes, so one minute it runs fine and the next it doesent. Someone told me to replace the alternator……. Also I got my battery tested and it’s only putting out half of the cold cranking amps that it should…… Will someone please help me I don’t know what to do…

What ECU was used when the swap was performed and how was it installed?Sounds to me like a shoddy conversion and it is not getting the appropriate signals to the motor.Did you buy it with the D16 VTEC head already swapped?

d15b7 bottom with a d16z6 top right wellits not your battery its gunna be your ecu or you have a bad tune or it could be fuel inectors or the wire harness is garbage check all those things first make sure you have a p28 chipped there the best ecu honda ever made

1st i have a new radiator that got replaced not long ago.

2nd when i drive for a while.. my car starts to rev up, so i thought it wasn’t timed/tuned correctly so i did my self and it stopped reving up.

3rd Then it started again after a few days and when i went for long drives. Sooo i thought it was my coolant.. but when i went to check it.. the reserve tank was FULL like past the max amount.

Anyway i didnt think any thing of it.. sooo i empty half the coolant to the MAX level. A few days later.. i checked my car again.. and the reserve tank was FULL.. soo iam seeing that the coolant from the radiator is going BACK into the reserve tank :/ and not the other way around.

But my car hasn’t over heated while this has happen.. but then ENGINE gets pretty hot and the coolant metre stays at normal level.

would anyone know what the heck is going on lols. And its MANUAL btw

Your car is trying to tell you that it is old and nearing death. You have driven this old lady civic into the dirt with your excessive speeding and breaking.

Simple solution first: check to see that the radiator capis the right pressure for the car. They come with different settings, and this one may not let your coolant back in. Hard solution: could be a head gasket in the engine, pushing air into the coolant jacket on the compression stroke. Smell the coolant, see if it smells like gas, or has an oil sheen on it. For your sake, I want it to be the radiator cap. There is also a chance the coolant is mixed wrong, and boils, creating air pockets in the engine and pushing coolant out. Buy a cheap tester and check the boil-over level of your mix.

I have a 1987 Honda civic si. It has 13?? tires on it now it i go to a bigger tire will it mess with me odometer?

Nope…you’ll be 100% ok.In fact, you could upgrade all the way up to 17" wheels and would not run into any kind of negative side effect. And past that, the only thing you’d need to worry about on say 18′s would be fender rubbing and tire wear.

Got some 205x50x15 on mine, as long as the rolling radius (circumference), PCD and offset are the same you’ll be fine. 17′s I wouldn’t recommend because to acheive the rolling radius you’ll need really skinny profile tyres which are more costly and don’t do much for the ride quality.

If you replace the original size tires with tires of the same overall diameter it will not effect the speedometer or odometer at all.

Any idea what can cause my Insight to go from giving me 48-50 MPG to a mere 40 or less ? Airfilter is changed, new tires made for Hybrids.

first thought is that its winter and running the air conditioning in a mode other than Econ will cut the auto stop and affect the fuel economy. The air conditioning runs any time you have the windshield defroster "on".so if you use the defroster then you are inadvertenly running the air conditioning and that will affect the fuel economy.check your owner’s manual with regard to the operation of the ventilation system to read about the Econ mode.

the second thought is a change in driving habits.the primary reason the hybrids get great fuel economy is that they shut off at stops.if you’re not stopping as much then the fuel economy goes down.I know, both of these sound bizarre, but these are two ways the car eeks out the mpg.

lastly, the car does use a gasoline engine and that one requires a valve adjustment periodically.I don’t know when you had the valves checked and adjusted, but if its been over 30,000 miles then that can really affect the fuel economy (read ‘dramatically’ affect).the valve adjustment is what lets the engine breathe right and if its off, the fuel ratio is off and you’ll use more fuel. This would be my best guess as to what’s responsible for the decrease in fuel economy as most people think they only need to change the oil and rotate the tires on the hybrids.

hope that helps

How much hp does each have and @ wat rpms

Hmm, so MAX would put money on a motor with 25% less power in a drag race. I’ll take that bet, my money on the Honda.

Assuming we are talking about the models sold in the us, the ford has the Vulcan v6 which made 155hp and 186flbs of torque, no rpm was given, but considering it was used in trucks too, it mist have been down low, like 3,000 for torque and maybe 5,000 for horsepower. The Odyssey had a 210 horsepower engine but it was all at a higher rpm and no torque spec is given. Iam going to say the ford, because it has a more torquey truck based engine, not an accord engine. The ford also weighs less.

To ^^^this guy^^^It’s not all about power in a race bro, sorry.

Now for the answer, First I have to say, racing minivans, NICE.

ANYWAYS, it kills me to say this because I LOVE Hondas, but I would go with the ford for one reason and that is weight. The Honda is about 800 lbs more than the Ford. Sure it has more power but the weight will kill you in a race.

lmao! I’ld put my money on the Honda!

How FAR (miles or km) does YOUR honda crv (The one that you ACTUALLY own/ed) get for a full tank of petrol?
I’m looking at early 2000 models.

Again, YOUR crv, that you OWN. YOUR OWN crv. YOUR one. YOURS. If you have never owned one, don’t answer please.

How far do you get in a full tank? Highway, city, mixed, anything you can give. Thanks.

In city driving my 2000 AWD CR-V gets between 11-12L/100kms.
Combined city/highway I get 10L/100kms
Straight highway 9L/100kms.
Usually I get 400-450kms on a tank with city driving.

Try this. You can get all the data you want and still there will be cases of better, and cases of worse.

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/mpg/MPG.do?ac??

While you’re trying to review all types of cars, there is anothe site filled with owner comments- complaints, etc:

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/

Noboy ever built a perfect car yet. The best you can get is the one that best fits you.

I used to own a 2001 and it got 18 highway and about 15-16 city, But I dogged the hell out of it.
